Jack Reacher

There are four types of people who join the military. For some, it’s a family trade. Others are patriots, eager to serve. Next, you have those who just need a job. Than there’s the kind who want a legal means of killing other people.

In an innocent heartland city, five are shot dead by an expert sniper. The police quickly identify and arrest the culprit, and build a slam-dunk case. But instead of confessing, the accused man writes the words, “Get Jack Reacher.” Reacher himself sees the news report and turns up in the city. The defense is immensely relieved, but Reacher has come to bury the guy. Shocked at the accused’s request, Reacher sets out to confirm for himself the absolute certainty of the man’s guilt, but comes up with more than he bargained for.

GARY: I’m gonna need to see some I.D.

JACK REACHER: Go get Sandy.

GARY: Well, I need to see something.

JACK REACHER: How about the inside of an ambulance?

The movie opens with a man shooting five random people. Initially we think it’s just some psychopath shooting some random people , but gradually we realise that he did not kill five random people. The story then develops on these killing and then there comes JACK REACHER. Now, when he comes, the shooter in under police custody and in a very bad shape. I personally could not imagine how the story will move forward , but it does .

The film is still solidly made. It gets exciting when it goes to the action. The action scenes are well shot. The hand-to-hand combat fight scenes reminiscence the cool eighties action with some humorous camp. The car chase is the most impressive sequence where it shows several angles as they drive away without shaking the camera. It has the potential of a classic throwback.

Jeb: Hey. Outside.

Jack Reacher: Pay your check first.

Jeb: I’ll pay later.

Jack Reacher: You won’t be able to.

Overall , Jack Reacher is entertaining and fun to watch. 🙂

MY RATING : 73/100
